The pain and weakness in my back and legs put an end to skiing, golfing and hiking. Just walking became difficult.<\/p>\n<p>I tried physical therapy, steroids, cortisone shots and a L3-4 fusion with another doctor in 2021. Nothing worked, the pain continued to worsen.<\/p>\n<p>That is when I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Girardi at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS). My first question was will I have to settle for living with chronic pain? After listening to me and reviewing my test results, he said he knew what was wrong and could fix it. He was confident that I would be back to all the activities I enjoyed. He was right!<\/p>\n<p>My surgery with Dr. Girardi in October of 2022, a L3-4-5 fusion, was a success.\u00a0HSS, it\u2019s staff and Dr. Girardi\u2019s team were amazing.<\/p>\n<p>I am back to golfing, skiing and hiking pain free.
