Natalia’s Foraminotomy and Laminectomy Patient Story

Posted on: March 13th, 2023 by Our Team

My procedure was on October 6, 2022. It was a Laminectomy and foraminotomy.

Before I came to see Dr. Girardi, I had been experiencing pain and numbness in my left foot for nine long months. The pain was getting worse by the day, and at its peak, I could only walk for a maximum of three minutes before the pain became unbearable. I tried various treatments to relieve the pain, including physical therapy, multiple steroid injections, various pain medications, and even acupuncture, but nothing seemed to work. The constant pain had a significant impact on my life, affecting my ability to work, exercise, and even perform simple tasks around the house. It was an incredibly frustrating and demoralizing experience.

My surgical experience was amazing, and I started feeling better within just five days of the surgery. I was able to return to some light work on my computer within just two days of the procedure. The pain in my foot was completely gone within one week, and I have been feeling better and better ever since. I can now walk almost unlimited distances without any pain and have very minimal back pain, which is mainly due to weakened muscles. Just two months after my surgery, I was able to take a two-week business trip to Europe, where I felt no pain. The surgery has been life-changing, and I am incredibly grateful for the relief it has brought me. Thank you so much for your expert care and attention to my needs.
