Before surgery, I had been dealing with chronic back pain that significantly affected my quality of life. I tried conservative treatments, including physical therapy, medications, activity modification, and pain management, but the relief was only temporary, and my mobility continued to decline. Everyday activities became difficult, and I found myself constantly planning around pain, physical limitations, and accessibility.

Post-operatively, the changes in my day-to-day life have been incredible. I can sleep through the night again. I can go to the supermarket independently, which may sound small until you realize what it feels like to depend on others for basic things like food shopping. I was able to travel for work and spend a full week away sleeping in a hotel bed, something that would have felt impossible before surgery.
Most meaningful of all, my family is planning our first vacation in five years where accessibility is no longer the deciding factor. Instead of planning around pain and limitations, I finally feel like I can participate fully in life again.
